Lavin Leads St. Johns To Another Garden Upset

Steve Lavin is in his first season at St. John's. Lavin coached at UCLA previously, after leaving the Bruins, he worked as an analyst at ESPN. St. John's had already beaten the likes of Duke in blowout fashion at Madison Square Garden. The Pittsburgh Panthers came into New York City on Saturday ranked in the top five. They left with a one point defeat on a last second reverse lay up. Once again the Red Storm had pulled a top 25 upset at the World's Most Famous Arena. Many believed St. Johns were still on the bubble heading into the game. After Saturday, the Storm has to be an at large lock within the new field of 68. Lavin and his team are getting it done in the Big East Conference, which is regarded the best conference in college basketball. Everyone will be looking forward to see how St. John's plays the rest of the regular season and Big East Tournament. Lavin is making a case for National Coach Of The Year and Big East Coach Of The Year.
