Darrelle Put The D Back In Defense For Jets

Rookie head coach Todd Bowles got a treat this offseason. The Jets signed back their play making cornerback Darrelle Revis. Revis was gone from Gotham for a few years. First with Tampa Bay and then last season winning the Superbowl with AFC East rival New England. Just like old times through two games the Jets defense looks ferocious. Including the 5 takeaways on Monday night during a road victory in Indianapolis. Revis Island accounted for 3 takeaways that night by himself. The Jets are 2-0 and tied atop the AFC East with New England. They will host an 0-2 Philadelphia squad on Sunday. Todd Bowles is a defensive mind he's been a defensive coordinator in this league. Now he has the Jets defense rocking rolling on all 3 levels. Similar to their back to back AFC Championship Game appearances in 2009 and 2010 that were fueled by Rex Ryan.

Get Your Popcorn Ready Julio & The Falcons Are Putting On A Show

First year head coach Dan Quinn may have inherited the best wide receiver (arguably) in the National Football League : Julio Jones. Jones was rewarded with a contraction extension this off season. Helping lead Atlanta to a 2-0 start over a pair of NFC East opponents : Eagles and Giants. Jones has torched both secondaries and has been flat out unstoppable. Currently he has 22 receptions for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you opt to single cover him = trouble. If you opt to put a safety over the top = trouble the guy can still make you pay or open it up for others. The 5th year man from Alabama has certainly made a name for himself. Atlanta travels to Arlington, TX to take on the Cowboys in week 3.

Think About It Following Overturned Suspension Brady On A Mission

Just before the season was set to begin a judge lifted the four game suspension following 'Deflate Gate' this past Sunday in Orchard Park, NY the Bills fans wish he was still out. 466 passing yards later the New England Patriots are off to a 2-0 start. Week one the Patriots again led by Tom Brady carved up the Pittsburgh Steelers to kick of the 2015 NFL campaign. No one can stop Gronk then guys like Edelman and Amendola are getting theirs as well. The offensive line barely allows anyone to get near the Superbowl MVP. The Patriots haven't won back to back Superbowls since XXXVIII and XXXIX respectively. That is what is at stake this season. Who can challenge this group in the AFC East and in the conference ?

No Jordy Nelson With AR No Problem

Green Bay lost Pro Bowl wide receiver Jordy Nelson for the season. No one touched Nelson in a pre season game vs. Pittsburgh during his ACL injury. The Packers brought back James Jones the veteran wideout who was apart of the Superbowl XLV winning team. Add him to the mix of young talent on the outside led by Randall Cobb and the offense doesn't miss a beat. NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has picked up where he left off a season ago. This past Sunday night in Green Bay he led the Packers over Seattle. A revenge game to say the lease after Green Bay lost up in Seattle during the NFC Championship Game. A game in which the Packers led most of the way before losing in overtime. 2-0 is good however Green Bay wants to be great. All roads in the NFC could come through Lambeau Field in January. Stay tuned.

Nick Saban Former Team Michigan State Now Ranked 2nd Following Tide Loss

Heading into week three of college football the Big Ten is on top. Following last week road win by Ole Miss which knocked off Alabama in a high scoring affair. Michigan State is ranked 2nd and defending National Champion : Ohio State is still ranked first in the country. Alabama is historically known for their defense especially under Saban however they gave up well over forty points a week ago. Last season Alabama landed in the College Football Playoff with one loss. Maybe this year the Tide can do the same. However they will need to rectify some issues. Meanwhile in East Lansing the Spartans will look to challenge the Buckeyes for Big Ten supremacy and also a potential National Championship. This is getting pretty good and we aren't even out of the month of September yet. Saturday November 21 Michigan State travels to Columbus.

The Ohio State Has The Talented Quarterbacks

After watching Ohio State vs. Virginia Tech last Monday, I am left wondering if their is a team out there that can deny a Buckeyes repeat. Barring major injury the National Championship could be coming back to Columbus. Cardele Jones was the starting quarterback in Blacksburg, VA. Played well utilizing his arm and legs. J.T Barrett also saw playing time and he showed off his skill set. Meanwhile Braxton Miller scored as a wide receiver and as a quarterback threw for a score. Meanwhile Miller had a video game like spin during a long run from the pocket, it seemed surreal.
Oh by the way Ohio State can run the football with Ezekiel Elliot. I'm sure teams such as Michigan (obviously), Michigan State, Minnesota along with the rest of the Big Ten will be aiming to beat the Buckeyes. However it will be a tough task.

Roberta Vinci Ends Serena Historical Run

Thursday evening the U.S Open was delayed due to rain. Friday morning Roberta Vinci took on Serena Williams in the semifinals. Williams was trying to advance to the final on Saturday. Vinci actually lost the first set 2-6 then responded with 6-4, 6-4 victories. The dream of the 'Serena Slam' was ended. It has not been done since Martina Navratilova in 1988. Roberta Vinci ranked 23rd knockout Serena Williams ranked number 1. Vinci will take on Flavia Pennetta in an all Italian womens final. History was witnessed in Queens on Friday. History was also denied.
