Rangers vs. Giants Each Punch Their Ticket To Fall Classic

Texas defeated the defending World Series champion New York Yankees 4-2 in the ALCS. San Francisco defeated the two time defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in the NLCS. Josh Hamilton of the Rangers won ALCS MVP. Cody Ross of the Giants won NLCS MVP. World Series Game 1 begins on Wednesday in San Francisco. The National League finally broke their All Star Game losing streak in July, which allowed the NL to have home field during the Fall Classic. We'll see what type of ratings FOX will get with these two unexpected teams, making it to this point. Cliff Lee will look to win a world championship for the first time and will be a free agent after the season. Cody Ross who's been hot all postseason will be in search for his first world championship. San Francisco has never won a World Series in that city, ditto for Texas. The Giants last world championship took place in 1954, while playing in New York. The country will get to know both teams players, that are veterans and youth. It should be an interesting competitive series.

#1's Upset In Madison & Columbia

The last three college football weekends have featured three number one ranked teams going down on the road. Two weeks ago #1 Alabama lost at South Carolina, last week #1 Ohio State lost at Wisconsin and this week #1 Oklahoma lost at Missouri. More than likely the Oregon Ducks will probably be ranked #1 in the country, going into next weekend. Ducks, be careful...it's your turn as a number one rank team. It'll be interesting to see how the voters place teams such as Boise State and Texas Christian. Since traditional BCS Conference teams have gone down the last three weeks. Let the debate begin, if both teams go undefeated, could one or both make the BCS Championship game. Would the voters allow one or two one loss teams to meet in the title game. Those teams would come from a BCS Conference. The puzzle will clearly unfold during the next several weeks.

Favre 'retired' which let to the drafting of Mark Sanchez and firing of their head coach, then the hiring of Rex Ryan. Allegations has surfaced during the bye week, with Favre and a Jets employee, a women accusing Favre of sending voice messages and photos, that she didn't agree with. The NFL is currently investigating the situation. Revis vs. Moss Part II this season takes place. Revis last played a few weeks ago after injuring his hamstring vs. New England. During that game Moss burned Revis for a long touchdown. Moss is playing on the road on MNF during back to back weeks. After the Patriots defeated the Dolphins last week in Miami, Moss was traded back to Minnesota. The Vikings drafted Moss in 1998, when several teams passed on him. There is so may story lines in this game.

Wade Phillips and Cowboys Lose To Titans Fall To 1-3

The seat for head coach Wade Phillips has become more warm in Dallas, now that the Cowboys have opened up the 2010 season 1-3. The record is currently good enough for last place in the NFC East, as the Redskins, Giants and Eagles are tied with 3-2 records, for 1st place in the division.
Dallas all summer has been a top NFC choice to represent the NFC during February's SuperBowl at Cowboys Stadium. However Vince Young, Chris Johnson, Nate Washington and Kenny Britt make their collective and respective presence known on Sunday. Once again the Cowboys put up great offensive numbers, however when they needed key scoring drives in the 4th quarter, those drives ended with penalties or turnovers. Dallas still has a pair of division games remaining against Philadelphia and New York and one game vs. Washington who they lost to already. Along with the likes of the Saints, Vikings and Colts to name a few. Many believe it's not a matter of if, but when Jerry Jones will relieve Wade Phillips of his coaching duties.

The Phillies will await the winner of the Braves/Giants series. South Philadelphia will be rocking, next Sunday as the Phillies will host either Atlanta or San Francisco in Game 2 of the NLCS and earlier in the day Philadelphia will play Atlanta during week six NFL action. Yankees Make Quick Work Of Twins

The New York Yankees, the defending World Series Champions, are looking for their 28Th World Championship. The Yankees advanced for the first time as a Wild Card team, which came into play along with the Division Series in 1995. Minnesota simply has struggled time and time again to defeat New York during the regular season or post season. For the second straight season, the Yankees opened up the playoffs by defeating the Twins and advancing to the ALCS, they'll await the winner of the Tampa/Texas ALDS series. Unlike last season the Yankees swept through the Twins in three games. New York won the first two games in Minneapolis at new Target Field, then came home Saturday night to complete the task. Paterno and Nittany Lions Falls To Fightin Illini

Illinois 31, Penn State 13, homecoming game weekend at State College, PA. Happy Valley isn't happy thus far through the first month of the season. Penn State has lost on the road at Alabama, which was expected, especially with a true freshman starting at quarterback. Temple almost came into Beaver Stadium two weeks ago and picked up a win, a game PSU narrowly escaped with a victory. Last week in Iowa City on a primetime Saturday Night game, the Nittany Lions lost to Iowa once again. This Saturday the struggling Fightin Illini came into Happy Valley and flipped scored on Joe Paterno's team. Now Penn State has yet to win their first Big Ten game this season. This team seems to be in major trouble with the likes of Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State still left on the schedule.

Upset City In Columbia

Steve Spurrier has coached in the NFL with the Washington Redskins, a stint that wasn't very successful. Prior to his NFL coach experience, Spurrier produced a National Championship and Heisman Trophy winner, among several SEC Championships. It's been a rebuilding process the past few years at the University of South Carolina. Spurrier hasn't experienced the same success with the Gamecocks, that he's experienced with the Gators. South Carolina came into Saturday's game ranked in the top 25. However the defending National Champions coached by Nick Saban, who has won titles at LSU and Alabama were coming into town, led by the likes of Heisman Trophy winner, running back Mark Ingram and backup Clint Richardson. Alabama when the exited Columbia Saturday evening, left with a loss. South Carolina and Spurrier shook up the college football world with their victory, now the Crimson Tide are currently ranked 8th. They'll have a long road ahead if they look to repeat, other teams that are ranked ahead of them, will probably have to lose. Nevertheless the ole ball coach, finally got that signature win at USC they he desired. South Carolina will move up the top 25 rankings as well.

Don Larson pitched the first no hitter in post season history in 1956, now he has some company. Philadelphia took a 1-0 series lead during the NLDS vs. Cincinnati. 4-0 score, 3 RBI's by Shane Victorino would be all Roy needed at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Some where worried since postseason pitching was new to Halladay and prior to this season has never pitched on this stage while playing for the Toronto Blue Jays. Many experts believe he'll also be the 2010 NL Cy Young award winner.

Moss Returns To Vikings

Since he last played in the Metrodome for the home team, Moss has played in Oakland and New England. 1-2 is currently the Vikings record and they'll face the Jets on Monday Night Football, coming off a bye this week. Favre probably in his last season, will have the likes of Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice (at some point), among others to get the ball to, the remainder of the season. It's win now approach for coach Brad Childress Minnesota Vikings, lets see how the rest of the season will play out. Keep in mind Favre with his touchdowns vs. turnovers can win and lose a game for his team. Playing for the Packers and Vikings he's lost two of the last three NFC Championship Games vs. the Giants and Saints respectively.
