Mayweather/McGregor Never Happening

In the words of Flava Flav and Public Enemy "Don't believe the hype". Floyd Mayweather probably has a better chance of fighting Manny Pacquiao again. Opposed to ever getting on the same page to have a professional boxer talk on a UFC fighter. Hypothetically if this fight were to take place it would clearly be in a boxing ring. Not in a UFC octagon. Mayweather Jr. and Mayweather Promotions will never allow that. If professional boxers have yet to beat Floyd in a boxing ring, what chance does a UFC fighter really have ? Zip zero none. To be continued...to see if this ever manifest, yet again personally completely doubt it.

Boogie Head To NOLA To Join Davis

Immediately following the NBA All Star game, hosted by the New Orleans Pelicans their was a major announcement. The Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans worked out a trade sending DeMarcus Cousins to the Crescent City. Where he will join fellow All Star and former Kentucky Wildcat Anthony Davis. Cousins comes to NOLA averaging 27+10 to join Davis and his 28+12 per night. New Orleans currently is 14 games under .500 yet sit only 3.5 games out of the 8th and final playoff spot out west. It will be interesting to see, if long term this dynamic interior duo on offense and defense will work out. Simply due to the fact Cousins can have a temper and become toxic from a behavior standpoint. All eyes will certainly be on New Orleans for the near future to see how this pairing will manifest.

Jay Wright Captures 500th Win

Villanova came into Cincinnati on Saturday for a Big East showdown vs. Xavier. The defending regular season Big East champions, had Xavier right behind them in the standings. Last year during their National Championship season the Wildcats fell to the Musketeers in Cincinnati. Jay Wright the Wildcats coach, who graduated from Bucknell and got his heading coaching start at Hofstra, was one win shy of 500. Villanova not only was able to walk out of the Cintas Center with a victory. Coach Wright who started coaching Villanova in 2001, was able to gain his 500th victory. Saturday the NCAA for the 1st time announced their top 16 teams for the NCAA Tournament. Despite being ranked number 2 overall behind Gonzaga, the Wildcats currently sit as the number one overall seed of the tournament. Obviously nothing is etched in stone, their is plenty of basketball left to be played. Prior to anything being decided from a positioning standpoint, let alone a championship standpoint.

RD3 Highlights Saturday Night Showcase

Kevin Durant final home game in Oklahoma City, was a Game 6 Western Conference Finals defeat at the hands of Golden State. Oklahoma City would lose the next contest Game 7 in Golden State. The Thunder not only lost a 3-1 series lead to Golden State, they would lose KD to them in free agency. Saturday night on ABC the Thunder host the Warriors. It's KD vs. Russ round 3. Golden State won both meetings this season thus far in the Bay. Both Thunder losses in those contest were by double digits. Russell Westbrook is a triple double threat every night. He's averaging a triple double for the season. KD is still one of the top scorers in the association, and along with Curry/Thompson/Green have GS atop the league with the best record. Both teams are set to meet once more in Oklahoma City to close out their regular season series. Expect a loud crowd. With many fans showing KD how they feel about his exit to the west coast. Oklahoma City will be motivated to get a win vs. Golden State at home.

Brady Belichick Kraft Overcome It All 5th Lombardi

Deflate gate, multiple game suspensions, season ending injuries, 25 point Superbowl deficit. Yet after the 1st overtime in Superbowl history. 34-28 Patriots win, to cap an enormous comeback vs. Atlanta. A 5th Superbowl championship & Lombardi trophy is headed to Patriot Place. Gronk was inured later in the season vs. Seattle. It didn't matter his teammates had his back. 2nd Superbowl victory in 3 years. Out of all 5 thus far, this is the most gratifying probably. Due to the deficit that New England was able to overcome. Another Superbowl MVP for Tom Brady who passed for well over 400 yards on 62 passing attempts. Commissioner Roger Goodell had to embrace (internally probably cringed at doing so) the Patriots, by handing the Lombardi trophy over to the team. He also had to hand the MVP trophy over to Brady. There's no love loss between the commissioner and the Patriots organization. Like the presidential election it's almost like New England stuck it to the establishment at still won. Now the talk will be which Patriots will and won't visit the White House at some point, since Donald Trump is in office as president. New England is already the favorite to win the Superbowl next season according to Vegas.

Falcons Felt The Boston Massacre

Superbowl LI is the first of many. For the first time in Superbowl history a game went to overtime. New England won the coin toss, elected to receive with all the momentum. The Atlanta defense could not seem to get a stop in overtime. A made field goal would have kept the game alive. However Patriots running back James White would have none of that. His goal to go touchdown run won the game and capped an historic Superbowl comeback. 28-3 to start the 4th quarter the Falcons held a 25 point lead. The Patriots capped obviously the largest comeback in Superbowl history. Several plays helped contribute to both teams rise and decline. Turnovers, sacks, penalties, spectacular receptions, missed interceptions all played a role for both teams. The result the 5th Superbowl in Patriots franchise history. Tom Brady won another Superbowl MVP. Meanwhile the Falcons let it slip away, which would have been their 1st Superbowl in franchise history. Which would have capped a NFL MVP season by quarterback Matt Ryan. While they are celebrating in New England, it stings in Atlanta not just the defeat, yet how they loss. One tough historical pill to swallow.

Really...2 Years Still No Call To The Hall For TO

1,078 Receptions. 15,934 Yards. 153 Touchdowns. Second only behind Jerry Rice is most pass catching numbers. However the voters for year number two just can't see to get it right. Meaning stop taking it personal. Owens obviously had his ways about him as a player...right, wrong or indifferent. Yet on the field he produced ! In San Francisco/Philadelphia/Dallas/Cincinnati and deserves to get that call that would officially send him to Canton. It's time to give the man his Hall of Fame jacket. Owens didn't get the news he expected Saturday night in Houston, when the class of 2017 was announced. Last year at Superbowl XL Terrell was elected taking away the chance at becoming a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee. Maybe this is the price for standing on the star in Dallas or grabbing pom poms or pulling out a sharpie to sign a football after a touchdown. No Fun League as they call it and it seems to extend to the voters as well.

Pair Of Trips To The Georgia Dome

Here at Sports247365 we are huge fans of the Philadelphia Eagles. 2 weeks ago the Atlanta Falcons played their final game at the Georgia Dome. Next season they'll open up their new stadium. Sunday night vs. New England will determine if the Falcons will be Superbowl LI champions or NFC champions. September 2005 visited the city of Atlanta for the first time and watched Michael Vick take on Donovan McNabb on Monday Night Football. The Falcons won a close nip and tuck game. Fast forward to September 2015 the Falcons were playing their first game for then new head coach Dan Quinn. They took on then Eagles coach Chip Kelly on Monday Night Football. Led by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones the Falcons got off to a fast start. At the end the Falcons hung on to beat the Eagles. Which was my third overall trip to Atlanta and 2nd appearance to the Georgia Dome. Needless to say 2 Monday Night Football games 2 losses for Philadelphia. And that was with two different quarterbacks at the helm as far as Vick and Ryan respectively. What remained the same was the noise after a Falcons touchdown and while the opposing team offense is on the field. The noise can be deafening.

Visit To Patriot Place

It was the spring of 2011. I visited Boston, Massachusetts for the first time. Yet my lodging was outside of the 'Hub' as the locals call it. During the day part of my Saturday visit, I had a chance to visit TD Bank arena in Boston. I had the chance to tour the perimeter of the arena, which is the home of the Celtics and Bruins. Then I headed toward Patriot Place in Foxborough, Massachusetts. It was an excellent landmark. I saw Gillette Stadium, it was a breath taking facility. I was able to walk around Patriot Place. I also ate a Five Guys. Their are several things to do for fans and tourist at Patriot Place. They also have lodging with a hotel on the premises. I would think owner Robert Kraft wanted fans to have the best entertainment experience, while coming out to Foxborough for a Patriots game.

Penn Charter Matt Ryan (MVP) Highlight Award Winners

The kid from Delaware County which is just outside of Philadelphia, is preparing himself to step on the NFL's biggest stage. Sunday evening in Houston, Matt Ryan will lead his Atlanta Falcons into battle vs. the New England Patriots. The winner will hoist the Lombardi trophy as Superbowl LI champions. It will either be the 5th for New England or 1st for Atlanta. Saturday night at the NFL Honors Exton, PA native Matt Ryan won the 2016 AP NFL MVP award. It's been a journey for Ryan from Penn Charter to Boston College to the Atlanta Falcons. Now at minimum 60 football minutes away from a world championship. Ryan has been though the ups and downs when it comes to the NFL. Back in 2012 Atlanta took a home halftime lead into the locker room during the NFC Championship Game vs. San Francisco. The Falcons were shut out in the 2nd half and witnessed the 49ers advance to Superbowl XLVII. The Falcons two weeks ago blew out the Packers, during their final game at the Georgia Dome. That victory advanced the Falcons to their 2nd Superbowl appearance and their first since 1998.
