McDaniels & Broncos Part Of Spygate II

Josh McDaniels prior to being named Denver Broncos head coach, he was an assistant for the New England Patriots. New England was investigated a few years ago for being accused of video taping opposing teams practice. Now Denver has been accused of doing the same, while over in England to take on the 49ers a few weeks ago. Reports say a Broncos employee tried to show McDaniels the footage and Josh turned him down. However the Broncos and McDaniels will be fined by the NFL, the league fined the coach for with holding the information in which he was presented. Denver had struggled this season and last season after starting 6-0. People were wondering if Josh McDaniels job was on the line even prior to this situation, now with this situation who knows what the outcome will be as the league investigates.

South Beach Big 3 Early Season Issues

9-8 record to begin the 2010-11 NBA season, is a solid start for several teams. However when you bring the likes of Wade, Bosh and James to Miami as Pat Riley did this summer, it's a frustrating start to the season. Miami has clearly struggled versus other teams post players and against teams with winning records. Wade this past week has struggled from the field, previously Bosh struggled from the field, however played better this week. James has been the most consistent of the three All Stars. Mike Miller the sharp shooting free agent should be back during the second half of the season, he'll be able to space the floor and knock down open shots off the double team. Haslem the heart and soul of the Heat, a player who does the dirty work, has had foot issues and will be out for quite sometime as well. The Heat are searching for answers, the Biscayne Bay saga continues.

Kemba Walker & UConn Knock Off Pair Of Top Team Teams In Maui

Senior point guard Kemba Walker, has seen his numbers rise each year during his previous three seasons in Storrs, Connecticut. Kemba Walker has that New York City flare, he keeps his hometown dear to his heart. UConn opened the 2010-11 season by winning the Maui Invitation Tournament defeating the likes of Michigan State ranked second and Kentucky ranked ninth along the way. Those pair of early season victories, will look great on UConn resume in March during selection Sunday. UConn had an up and down 2009-10 season and missed the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Jim Calhoun was ill last year and missed several games, Calhoun and his team will look to bounce back this season. Truly a confidence builder for a young team prior to the start of the Big East schedule.

Duke On A Mission To Win Back To Back Titles

Last season Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski won his 4Th national championship. Duke this season will be looking to go back to back for the 2ND time, the first time since 1991 and 1992. Coach K has Kyle Singler the lanky forward who plays the game of basketball with a serious passion along with highly recruited freshman point guard Kyrie Irving. Duke also landed the sharp shooting younger brother of Stephen Curry and son of Dell Curry former NBA player. Bottom line this 2010-11 edition of the Duke Blue Devils are locked and loaded and ready to defend it's title. They open the 2010-11 season ranked number one and through the first two weeks of the season, remain undefeated.

Boise State Kicks BCS Championship Dreams Away

Kyle Brotzman missed a field goal with two seconds left in the 4Th quarter. That particular field goal would have given Boise State a victory and keep their undefeated season alive. Anthony Martinez Nevada's freshmen kicker made a 34 yard field goal in overtime. Nevada ranked 19Th defeated Boise State ranked 4Th capping a 17 point halftime deficit comeback. Boise State not only kiced away in BCS Championship Game dreams and probably a BCS Bowl game at large bid. This loss helps TCU among other teams in the BCS field that are ranked near the top.

College Football At Wrigley Field And New Yankee Stadium

Northwestern hosted Illinois in an instate Big Ten battle, not in Evanston, but at Wrigley Field. In college football it was the weekend of games being played in baseball stadiums. New Yankee Stadium was the host of Army vs. Notre Dame. It was a flashback to old school college football that was played in the original Yankee Stadium and Wrigley Field. It was similar to the current Winter Classic on New Years Day as NHL teams play in a football or baseball stadium odors. Yankee Stadium will actually play host to a bowl game this upcoming bowl season. Clearly their was more room for football at the newer stadium in New York opposed to the veteran Stadium in Chicago. Northwestern and Illinois could only drive on offense in one direction, due to the fact the other direction was close to a brick wall. Nevertheless brick wall or lack of space, the game was enjoyable for fans players and those involved covering the game. This was a great idea by the NCAA, hopefully fans will get more of these venues during upcoming seasons.

Leslie Frazier Replaces Fired Brad Childress In Minnesota

The NFL has seen it's second coach in two weeks get fired. Green Bay defeated Dallas in blowout fashion and Wade Phillips was fired. Sunday they went into the Metrodome and blew out Minnesota. Brad Childress was fired and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier was named interim coach. Will Frazier be able to win vs. Washington this Sunday in his first game. Cowboys interim coach Jason Garrett won his first game vs. New York as Dallas defeated the Giants, followed by a win vs. Detroit this past weekend. Garrett and Frazier will look to land a perminent head coaching job beyond this season with their current orgazinations or elsewhere. Frazier is one of the few minority coaches in the National Football League. Leslie has made it known even at 3-7, Brett Favre will start at quarterback for the Vikings. Childress was rumored to have several falling out moments with Favre, Harvin and other Vikings players. Some believe Brad had lost the locker room in his 6th season as Vikings head coach.

Philadelphia Spectrum Gone Forever

The Spectrum in Philadelphia orginally opened in 1967. November 23rd,2010 was the day the recking ball started to take down the veteran arena, to make place for an entertainment complex. In 2003 Veterans Stadium was blown up and is currently a parking lot for the Sports Complex located in South Philadelphia. The Spectrum in recent years has been called the Corestate/First Union/ Wachovia Spectrum. The likes of Bob Clarke and Bernie Parent have won a pair of Stanley Cups for the Philadelphia Flyers. Dr. J other known as Julius Erving won a championship their as well as Wilt Chamberlain won the other basketball title. There are several Spectrum memories from NCAA Tournament games, concerts, circus, wrestling and many more events. The building may be taken apart brick by brick, however fans of Philadelphia sports will have a lifetime of memories.

Trailblazers Oden Out Once Again

Greg Oden will be having micro fracture surgery and his 2010-11 season will be over, before it even had the chance to get started. Greg Oden the former 2007 number overall selection of the Portland Trailblazers, will be out for the season, the third his career. What does the future hold fr Oden and the Blazers moving forward. Keep in mind the Trailblazers had the chance to draft Brandon Roy and Kevin Durant in consecutive drafts, however opted for Oden in 2007. Oden was supposed to bring a rebounding and shot blocking presence to the Portland frontcourt. Greg Oden hasn't fully recovered for the knee injury that ended his 2009-10 season. Hopefully the seven foot center can have a speedy recovery and rehab.

Jason Garrett Leads Cowboys To Victory

Jason Garrett went from being the Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator to interim head coach, after Wade Phillips was relieved of the coaching duties by owner Jerry Jones. He had a short week to prepare for the New York Giants, however he changed some practice habits for the Cowboys during the week. Along with changing habits for team meetings as well. The Cowboys went into New Jersey and defeated the Giants 33-20, while earning their second win of the season. It was a total team effort for 2-7 Dallas versus 6-3 New York. Antonio Bryant the Cowboys rookie reciever and kick returner played like a beast in both the return and recieving game respectively. Miami Heat Are In Need Of A Post Presence

The likes of Wade, James and Bosh along with their Heat teammates have been done in by the opponents post presence. If Miami has any hopes of representing the Eastern Conference during June's NBA Finals, they'll need to make a deal for another low post player. Miami has struggled during two home and away losses thus far to the Celtics. Boston is a potential playoff opponent in the East. The Celtics have front court depth that Miami sorely lacks. Even the Utah Jazz came into Miami and picked up a win in overtime in comeback fashion. Paul Milsap had 46 points, which included 18 in the 3rd quarter. New Orleans won at home versus Miami after a defensive player and rebounder in Emeka Okafor scored 28 points. It's possible Pat Riley will pull the trigger on that move and also exit the front office for a seat on the Heat bench as head coach. Heat and NBA fans stay tuned.

Redskins Sign McNabb To Contract Extension With A Clause

Donovan McNabb went from coming off a bye week in which he was benched the week prior versus Detroit, to signing a contract extension Monday afternoon prior to Monday Night Football versus the Eagles. The 59-28 loss didn't sit well with McNabb or the Redskins. Washington dipped below .500 with a 4-5 record and are 2-1 in the NFC East. Reports have surfaced the deal that was reported as 5 years $78 million and $40 million quaranteed, has an opt out clause after this season. If McNabb is released following the 2010 season, Washington would only owe him $3.75 million. It'll be interesting to see how McNabb and Washington finishes the final seven games of the season. McNabb threw for 295 yards versus Philadelphia and two touchdowns, nevertheless he also had three interceptions, including one for a touchdown.

Vick Leads Monday Night Massacre In McNabb Bowl II

During week four earlier this season, Washington defeated Philadelphia 17-12 at Lincoln Financial Field. Former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb received a standing ovation from the Philadelphia crowd prior to kickoff. McNabb also let it be known the Eagles organization made a mistake by trading him in the off season. The Redskins were in first place and at that time there to stay according to McNabb. Two weeks after being benched vs. Detroit, McNabb received a contract extension prior to the Monday Night game versus Philadelphia. Before Washington could get their initial first down in Landover at Fed Ex Field, the Eagles were ahead 35-0. The quarterback McNabb help bring to Philadelphia was Michael Vick. Vick coming off NFC Offensive Player Of The Week honors, after the Eagles defeated the Colts the week prior, may have earned that award once again. During Philadelphia's 59-28 win against Washington, Vick threw for 4 touchdowns and ran for 2 toucdowns. Michael Vick threw for 333 yards and rushed for 80 yards. He threw an 88 yard touchdown to DeSean Jackson during the Eagles first offensive play from scrimmage. Moss Released

Sunday Brett Favre was knocked out in a loss to New England. Monday after suffering a lost to those same Patriots Randy Moss former team, his current team released him. Yes, after trading for Moss several weeks ago Minnesota has waived the veteran wide reciever. Rumors suggest Moss was unhappy with the coaches and ask for his release. A release he was give abruptly and immediately. His return to Minnesota and the team that drafted him in 1998 was short lived. The Vikings would win only once during his recent stint. It'll be interesting to see if and when Moss will end up on another NFL team. Randy recieved an emotional welcome back to New England Sunday as fans cheered for him.

McNabb Benched During Final Drive

First year head coach Mike Shanahan benched first year Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb. Rex Grossman came out to the Washington huddle with less than two minutes to go vs. Detroit. His first play resulted into a fumble and a defensive touchdown that sealed the Lions second victory of the season.
During the previous Washington possession McNabb threw into triple coverage which resulted in an interception. Shanahan was quoted saying after the game he believed Rex Grossman gave the team a better chance in that situation, which was a two minute drive. McNabb had issues on various occassions in Philadelphia with the two minute offense and according to the head coach, it may be an issue in Washington. McNabb is a free agent to be this off season, teams such as Minnesota and Arizona could be in need of a starting quarterback. Nevertheless with eight games remaining on the Redskins schedule, it'll be interesting to see the relationship between quarterback and coach after this decision. However McNabb was name the starter after the bye week, that opponent on Monday Night Football will be the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington injured Michael Vick in game on between both teams, which led to a Redskins win. This game will be in Landover. Now media will have two weeks prior to the game to break down the move made at Ford Field.
