Looks Like Ned Yost Royals Are Back For More

After going through a nearly 30 year playoff drought the Kansas City Royals made the 2014 playoffs. By winning the Wild Card then a come from behind victory vs. Oakland to advance in the Wild Card game. That set off an electric run through the postseason spear headed by the man in the dugout manger Ned Yost. Kansas City came up just short in the World Series losing in 6 games to San Francisco. The young Royals are out the prove 2014 was no fluke. They play the same brand of baseball solid starting pitching. Which is followed by a fantastic bullpen. The team plays tremendous defense. As this article is being written Kansas City is 51-33 good for best record in the American League. Only St. Louis has a better record in all of Major League Baseball. Jerome Cain leads the team in batting average he's hitting .311 while playing a stellar outfield. Catcher Salvador Perez has crushed 11 home runs and DH Kendrys Morales is the team leader in RBIs with 57. Greg Holland closes games out with 18 saves thus far. If KC gets in again they will be a problem to get out in October when it comes to elimination.

Chicago Blackhawks Did It Again

The Chicago Blackhawks went on to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games to close out the 2015 Stanley Cup Final. Led by Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp the Blackhawks after trailing 3-2 vs. Anaheim won the Western Conference Final. Chicago would even the series at home vs. the Ducks then head out west to win a decisive Game 7 on the road. Chicago set the tone early in the Stanley Cup Final by remaining in reach on the road during Game 1 in Tampa before stealing the first game. By knocking off Tampa Bay, Chicago won their third Stanley Cup since 2010. 3 championships in 6 seasons ain't so bad is it ? There was some willing and dealing via trades following the championship round. Let's see if the Blackhawks can bounce back next season with the chance to go back to back.

Will Aldridge Do For Duncan What Duncan Did For Robinson

In 1997 San Antonio won the NBA Draft Lottery. Basically it was the Tim Duncan sweepstakes.
Virgin Island born and Wake Forrest bred Duncan was headed to the southwest part of Texas. Meanwhile Hall Of Fame center David Robinson had a slew of individual achievements, yet an NBA Championship avoided him. Then came the strike shorten 1999 season where Duncan helped the Admiral capture his 1st title as well as the franchise 1st championship. Duncan would help lead San Antonio to 5 NBA titles and Robinson was long for a pair of them. La Marcus Aldridge is headed to San Antonio after leaving the only team he has ever known since entering the NBA out of Texas. Out with the old in Portland, in with the new in San Antonio. As Tim Duncan approaches 40, he can still play the game at a high level and the time is now for him and his teammates to add another Larry O'Brien trophy. Manu is probably coming back now for a chance at that, Tony Parker will be ready as well. Add in the likes of Danny Green and the Spurs could be crowned champions once again like in June of 2014. The rich just get richer.

Splash Brothers Close Out 67 Win Season With NBA Championship

The franchise that made it's way from Philadephia to San Francisco back in the day, then crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and landed in Oakland have reached the mountain top. Led by the Splash Brothers : 2014-15 MVP Stephen Curry and his backcourt mate Klay Thompson knocked off the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-2 to capture the franchise 1st NBA title in over 40 years. When you include the Philadelphia Warriors titles the organization became 4 time champions. These two young guards fed of each other all season. They stretched NBA defenses like rubber bands. Both can put it down on the deck, each can catch and shoot and both guards can pull up from anywhere with range. Next season the bulls eye with obviously be on Golden State back as they try to defend their title. Nevertheless they will have an enjoyable summer as they celebrate with the Larry O'Brien trophy. Barring injury the Warriors will at worse give themselves a chance to repeat next season.

Philadelphia : How You Like Me Now ? Iguoadala Finals MVP

Andre Iguodala journey has been long, yet not easy. His family is originally from the county of Nigeria. However he was raised in Springfield, Illinois. Andre Iguodala not only played basketball in high school where he received a scholarship to the University of Arizona, he ran track as well. Iguodala posted solid all around numbers during his time in Tuscon. When Andre left school early in 2004 he became a lottery pick. Iguodala would come to Philadelphia a town that had a superstar with the same initials. Allen Iverson would leave Philadelphia via trade 3 seasons after Andre Iguodala was selected. In 2012 Dre became an All Star. He was selected by the Eastern Conference coaches as a reserve. Then Dre was selected to represent the US Men's National Team in the 2012 London Olympics. Where the US won the gold. Iguodala was traded that summer to Denver then eventually landed in Oakland. He was key to the Warriors championship season as a co captain, team leader and all around player. The guy is extremely unselfish and has a high basketball IQ. Down 2-1 in the NBA Finals rookie head coach Steve Kerr inserted Iguodala into the starting lineup vs. Lebron James and Cleveland. Golden State after that move never lost another game again. Winning their 1st NBA title in over 40 years. The guy the was 125 to 1 odd prior to the Finals as far as winning MVP, did just that.
