When It Comes To MVP Voting Expect Lebron 1st Carmelo 2nd Maybe They'll Face Off In East Finals

Carmelo Anthony came on at the end, to help the New York Knicks secure the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference Playoff picture. However expect Lebron James to win his 4th MVP when the final votes are tallied up and Anthony will probably finish 2nd in voting. James helped lead Miami to 27 straight wins this season, which was 3rd most in NBA history in terms of consecutive games won. Melo during the Knicks late season run helped New York win 13 in a row. Miami and New York will take on Boston and Milwaukee respectively to open up postseason play. They could be on a collision course in the Eastern Conference Finals if both teams take care of their business in the 1st two rounds of the playoffs. Lebron James versatility vs. Carmelo Anthony scoring, would be something special to witness, with a spot in the NBA Finals on the line as Miami looks to repeat while appearing in the Championship Round for the 3rd straight June. Nevertheless both teams opponents will have something to say about that, they would love to derail the match up made for must see TV.

Despite Kobe Bryant Torn ACL Lakers Find A Way To Make The Playoffs

Kobe Bryant said during the 2nd half of the season, that the Los Angeles Lakers would make the NBA Playoffs. Unfortunately, for Bryant the 17 year NBA veteran he wasn't their to see it. Friday April 12th vs. Golden State at Staples Center KB24 tore his ACL with about 4 minutes left to go in the game. LA was trying to make a final push for the playoffs and a final run to rally and beat the Warriors. Bryant had surgery the next day and the initial outlook as far as a return is 6-9 months. The Lakers will face the Spurs in round one, obviously San Antonio will be the favorite in this 2-7 series. Nevertheless the Lakers were able to take care of business the final few games to get into postseason. This season it was more drama in Hollywood than usual, firing of a coach, new hiring of a coach, lack of chemistry. Even before the Kobe injury, Nash / Gasol / Howard / Metta Peace were all hurt at some point during the season. Prior to the season I really thought the fans would finally get a Kobe vs. Lebron NBA Finals with the Lakers and Heat representing their respective conferences. Obviously not, even if Kobe didn't get hurt, it would have been difficult for the Lakers to get out of the West. The Clippers this season was the best team in Los Angeles, really the last two seasons. Kobe's recovery will be interesting to see as well as the Lakers off season moves, when the time comes.

Boston Marathon Felt Like Boston Massacre Boston Sports Teams Help Boston Heal

Monday April 15th, Tax Day in America, was also known as Patriots Day in New England. On Patriots Day every year the Red Sox host an eleven A.M game at Fenway Park. During the same day the Boston Marathon takes place. On this day of 4/15/13 it will be a day never forgotten in Boston, New England or the United States of America. The Boston Marathon would go on as normal, then a few hours after completion all hell broke lose. An explosion took place near the finish line. People who ran the race and spectators made a mad dash, several people were injured as a result of the explosion. Some of those injuries caused amputations of limbs. 4 people including an eight year old boy passed away (at the time of this post) and several others are in critical condition. The Red Sox would have to travel to Cleveland to play an away game and showed their support to all those affected back in Massachusetts. Celtics cancelled their game, yet showed support as well. Postponed game was in store for the Bruins as well. A week long search went on, finally video footage revealed who set the explosions off. A pair of young men, who are originally from Russia before coming to the States. One was even a boxer. The older brother was gunned down by authorities, while on Friday the remaining brother was finally captured. Nearly a week has gone by and their was high emotion when the Bruins and Red Sox finally took the ice and diamond respectively. Sports seems to always help with the healing process, helping people for 2-3 hours take their mind of the realities they are dealing with.

Louisville Wins National Title Kentucky The Favorite Going Into Next Season

Rick Pitino coached Louisville to the 2012-13 NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four. More importantly the Cardinals won the National Championship. While in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome for a pair of games Saturday and Monday Night respectively. Louisville came back from double digit deficits. Saturday vs. Wichita State in the National Semifinals, then Monday vs. Michigan in the National Championship Game. Meanwhile John Calipari saw his Kentucky Wildcats not make the NCAA Tournament and lose in the 1st round of the NIT Tournament to Robert Morris. It was an up and down season for the defending National Champions. Losing Noel their freshman front court player to a torn ACL now to the NBA. Noel declared for the NBA Draft and could be the top overall selection. The young Wildcats struggled with inconsistency and a lack of chemistry all season long. Coach Cal is back at it, he'll have the number one rated recruiting class for the 2013-14 season. College Basketball experts already have UK as the odds on favorites to cut down the nets at Cowboys Stadium next April. In the Bluegrass State / Commonwealth college basketball royalty is where the rich continue to get rich. Coach Pitino has also be voted in to join the Class of 2013 to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Louisville Will Play For Ware At The Final Four Just Be Aware Of The Shockers

Kevin Ware injured his tibia in a gruesome injury, early on in the Cardinals Elite 8 win vs. Duke. Since Sunday Kevin Ware has made one media appearance after another. Obviously the 2013 NCAA Tournament overall #1 seed will continue to utilize their teammate injury as additional motivation to win the National Championship. By the way, it appears Louisville head coach Rick Pitino will also be headed into the Basketball Hall Of Fame later this year. How ironic the 2013 Final Four is in the injured Ware hometown of Atlanta. Louisville will take on the WSU Shockers they already knocked off West #1 seed Gonzaga then beat Ohio St in the Elite 8. The kids from the Missouri Valley Conference won't be scared. They are the first MVC Final Four representative since Indiana State in 1979. Larry Bird fell just short to Michigan State and Magic Johnson. Russ Smith the Cards senior guard has been playing like a potential MOP of the tournament. However Wichita State has a chance to 'Shock' the world.

Syracuse Back In The Final Four It's Been 10 Years Since Their Last Appearance

Syracuse in the house, the Georgia Dome that is, where they will take on Michigan in the Final Four. Syracuse knocked off East #1 seed Indiana in the Sweet 16. Marquette became the Orange next victim in Washington in route to the Final Four. A freshman by the name of Carmelo Anthony led Syracuse to their 1st and only (thus far) National Championship in 2003. 2003 Final Four was in New Orleans, that was the last time Syracuse made it this far in the NCAA Tournament. Led by the guard tandem of Triche and Carter Williams they are back in their final year in the Big East. Next season the Orange are off to the ACC. During the National Semifinal contest vs. Michigan it'll be the Cuse' zone vs. UM quickness. Syracuse has played excellent defense in their 4 previous tournament games. Their defense is what actually has them in Atlanta for the Final Four. The winner of Syracuse vs. Michigan will play the winner of Wichita State vs. Louisville.

Michigan Headed To Final Four For The First Time Since The Fab Five

During the Sweet 16 at Cowboys Stadium it appeared Michigan would be going home and Kansas would be moving on to the Elite 8. Not so fast, Player Of The Year sophomore Trey Burke saved the day. Michigan came back from a late 2nd half double digit deficit to defeat Kansas. Burke snailed a 30 foot 3 pointer with a few seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. In the Elite 8 the Wolverines led from start to finish and defeat Florida. Michigan led by Burke also have solid players in Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III. Now off to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta to face Syracuse for a right to play in the National Championship Game. Michigan last appeared in the 1993 Final Four beating Kentucky before losing to North Carolina in the Championship Game. That would be the final game the Fab Five would all play together. New Orleans witnessed Chris Webber call the game changing timeout for Michigan, which UNC rode to the finish line. 20 years have past and the Wolverines are back in the Final Four !
