Blackhawks Win Stanley Cup First Time Since 1961

Patrick Kane, the Chicago Blackhawks the first overall selection of the 2007 NHL Draft, leaps around Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, pure excitement, too bad he was the only one on the ice to recognize the Stanley Cup would be in Chicago for the first time since 1961. Kane beat Flyers goaltender Michael Leighton short side in overtime, to win the series 4-2 and Game 6 4-3. Philadelphia crowd as well as Flyers players were stunned, even some of Kane Chicago teammates didn't know the puck with in the net, however instant replay showed it clearly was pass Leighton. Jonathan Toews went on to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs MVP. Chicago victory overshadowed Philadelphia historical playoff run as a seven seed in the East, as well as trailing 2nd round series vs. Boston 3-0 and Game 7 3-0, to win the series and game both by 4-3 counts. Stanley Cup has already made a trip to Wrigley Field during last Sunday evening interleague game between Cubs & White Sox.
