Pat Summitt Retires As Lady Vols Head Coach
Pat Summitt, began coaching at the University of Tennessee in 1974, 38 years later in 2012 she will be retiring from the game of basketball. The Hall of Fame coach has won more college basketball games than any other men's or women's head coach. 1,098 victories is the bar Pat set. I'm sure fans and supporters will miss Summitt, while they want her to take care of herself as best as she can since being diagnosed with dementia. The disease causes memory loss. Along with winning 8 National Championships at Tennessee, Pat Summitt has won several gold medals on the international Olympic level as well for USA Women's Basketball. Summitt was a fiery, loving, competitive coach. Who ultimately wanted to win, wanted nothing but the best for her team and the University of Tennessee.
