McNabb Benched During Final Drive

First year head coach Mike Shanahan benched first year Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb. Rex Grossman came out to the Washington huddle with less than two minutes to go vs. Detroit. His first play resulted into a fumble and a defensive touchdown that sealed the Lions second victory of the season.
During the previous Washington possession McNabb threw into triple coverage which resulted in an interception. Shanahan was quoted saying after the game he believed Rex Grossman gave the team a better chance in that situation, which was a two minute drive. McNabb had issues on various occassions in Philadelphia with the two minute offense and according to the head coach, it may be an issue in Washington. McNabb is a free agent to be this off season, teams such as Minnesota and Arizona could be in need of a starting quarterback. Nevertheless with eight games remaining on the Redskins schedule, it'll be interesting to see the relationship between quarterback and coach after this decision. However McNabb was name the starter after the bye week, that opponent on Monday Night Football will be the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington injured Michael Vick in game on between both teams, which led to a Redskins win. This game will be in Landover. Now media will have two weeks prior to the game to break down the move made at Ford Field.
