35-1, That's the final record for the 2013-14 Wichita State Shockers. The one defeat came on Sunday in the round of 32 to the Kentucky Wildcats. Through 52 NCAA Tournament games this was the best game so far. The fans in St. Louis were treated to a show. It was a pair of heavyweights going toe to toe and blow for blow. Neither team deserved to lose however someone had to win. Now the young Kentucky Wildcats will move on to Indianapolis to take on in state rival Louisville. Both squads on Sunday showed so much heart. The Harrison twins were key for Kentucky scoring 39 total points to help big man Julius Randle. Cleanthony Early was flat out hooping for the Shockers with a slew of transition dunks, pull up jumpers and deep threes. The game had the feel of an Elite 8, Final Four or National Championship Game. The Shockers were trying to make back to back Final Four appearances. Nevertheless it was a great season. We shall see on Friday night can these young Wildcats make a serious run at the Final Four. Because any game vs. Louisville is always personal, now the stakes are hire with a trip to the Elite 8 on the line. Can this game become an instant classic like Kentucky vs. Wichita State.
