Marcus Smart came back to Stillwater, Oklahoma for another season of college basketball. Smart a promising point guard could have left school early to enter the NBA Draft. However he wanted to help lead his Oklahoma State Cowboys to a deeper tournament run in 2014. By now we all know about the shoving incident several weeks ago during a Cowboys loss at Texas Tech. Smart is looking to lead his team to the NCAA Tournament after sitting out 3 games during his suspension. Oklahoma State beat Texas Tech at home earlier this week in Marcus Smart 1st game back. This weekend the Cowboys will look to build their tournament resume as they take on Kansas at home as well. Right now OSU is a middle of the pack team in the Big 12 Conference. They'll need some signature wins down the stretch of the regular season and also in the Big 12 Tournament. Many NBA scouts will have their eyes on Smart a potential NBA Lottery selection as March nears.

So Long Sochi USA Men's Hockey Go Quietly Without A Medal
The United States Men's Hockey team steam rolled to the knockout round by posting a 3-0 record. Which included a shootout win vs. Russia the 2014 Winter Olympics host nation. Rewind back to 2010 in Vancouver during the Winter Olympics the United States lost a late lead in the Gold Medal game vs. Canada. The final result would be a Canadian win in overtime vs. the Americans. After 4 years of waiting America had it's chance at revenge against Canada. It would be the semifinal round in Sochi where the United States would lose a 1-0 contest to team Canada. Putting the Canadians in the Gold Medal game which they ultimately won. Team USA would have to settle for the Bronze Medal game vs. Finland. USA found themselves down 2-0 and would eventually lose 5-0 as they exit Sochi without a medal. Shutout in back to back games by a combined total of 7-0. True disappointment not to medal in Sochi after the fast tournament start. Another disappointment vs. the Canadians their number one nemesis. 34 years and counting since the 1980 USA won the Gold Medal in Men's Hockey.

Who Is TJ Oshie ?
During the 2014 Winter Olympics a new American hero was born. His name is TJ Oshie and he scored 4 shoot-out goals to help led the United States to a 3-2 shoot-out win vs. Russia. The Americans beat the Russians on their home turf. We all know the story from 1980 in Lake Placid, New York when the Americans beat the Russians in a semifinal game. That truly was an upset of all upsets. Now let's find out who is T.J Oshie : he was born on December 23, 1986 in Mt Vernon,WA. The St. Louis Blue drafted Oshie with the 24th pick in the 1st round of the 2005 NHL Draft. That's after T.J left North Dakota University prior to his senior year to become a professional hockey player. T.J Oshie was named to the U.S.A Men's hockey team on January 1, 2014. It'll be interesting to see if the United States will be able to win the gold medal once the knock out rounds come. Back in 2010 they lost the Gold Medal game to Canada. Maybe for team USA the best has yet to come in Sochi.

History Made At Superbowl XLVIII Russell Wilson Became 2nd Black QB To Win Title
Sunday February 2nd, 2014 NFL history was made at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. When the 4th quarter clock struck zero the Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos by 35 points. Russell Wilson who was drafted to play Major League Baseball and drafted in the 3rd round by the Seahawks in 2012 became a World Champion. He became the 2nd black quarterback to win the Superbowl. Doug Williams became the 1st back in Superbowl XXII. The common opponent were the Denver Broncos vs. John Elway and Peyton Manning. Wilson transferred in college from NC State to Wisconsin and led the Badgers to a Big Ten championship and to the Rose Bowl. Russell Wilson only in his 2nd NFL season has reached the mountain top. He may not throw for 300-400 yards on a weekly basis, however I like to always say he simply wins. His numbers may not be the most impressive yet the kid gets the job done. He plays his part on a team with a strong running game, great defense and solid special teams play.
Seahawks Talk The Talk Then Walk The Walk
Running back Marshawn Lynch, isn't much of a talker. According to the veteran running back from Cal, he rather do his talking on the field "Boss". During Superbowl week especially during media day Lynch only spoke for a minimum just enough to not be penalized by the National Football League. However his teammates especially on the defensive side of the football like to talk and that's an understatement. Led by Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas the Legion of Boom secondary are anchored by those pair of All Pros. Neither of those guys shy away from speaking. During Superbowl XLVIII on Sunday the NFL number one defense took apart the NFL number one offense. Final Score Seattle 43 Denver 8. 35 point margin 3rd largest in Superbowl history. Denver was made to look pedestrian by Seattle. Peyton Manning who won is 5th MVP was flustered throughout the game. The Broncos offensive lineman couldn't keep him clean. Receivers were leveled after catching short routes. Seattle defense beat the Denver offense physically and mentally. Well at least Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chilli Peppers did well at the half !
