Andy Reid Fired After 14 Seasons In Philadelphia Which Lead NFL Black Monday 2K12 Layoffs
New Years Eve 2012, was the day Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie relieved Andy Reid of head coaching duties after 14 seasons in Philadelphia. Just a day later it is rumored Reid could be headed for Arizona who fired head coach Ken Whisenhunt following the Cardinals 4-12 season, the same record the Eagles finished with. Whisenhunt lead Arizona to the Superbowl before losing to Pittsburgh following the 2008 season. Reid was 1-5 in the 6 biggest career games in Philadelphia, losing to St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Carolina and Arizona in the NFC Championship Game and New England in Superbowl XXXIX. Despite winning the most games in team history. Many believe once McNabb was traded to Washington on Easter 2010, Reid should have left with him, since they both came in together back in 1999. Also being fired on 'Black Monday' : Bears Lovie Smith who appeared in 1 Superbowl and 2 NFC Championship Games and missed the playoffs this season by one game. Norv Turner was let go by the Chargers, Romeo Crennel in Kansas City, Pat Shurmur in Cleveland and Chain Gailey in Buffalo. Not to mention GM's of the Jets, Browns, Jaguars, Cardinals and Chargers being canned as well. Will the firings end here or is it just the beginning ?
