Redskins Defeat Eagles During McNabb Bowl I


Redskins 17, Eagles 12 Washington is currently 2-2 however 2-0 in NFC East play, Philadelphia is 2-2 however 0-1 in NFC East play and 0-2 at home in their stadium of Lincoln Financial Field. McNabb back in Philadelphia for the first time since the Easter Sunday trade, took on his former coach Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles, the franchise he played 11 years for and led to 5 NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl XXXIX appearance. McNabb only completed 11 passes nevertheless he passed for one touchdown and ran for several key first downs. Kolb originally replaced McNabb was injured in game 1, Michael Vick stepped in, he was injured vs. Washington and knocked out the game. Kolb checked down to running backs much of the game and never really went down field. The Redskins ran the football after struggling for first three weeks of the season. 169 yards later the Redskins were able to out physical the Philadelphia Eagles on the offensive and defensive lines respectively. The NFC East rivals will meet in November for McNabb Bowl II. Donovan was very touched by the pregame cheers he recieved from the crowd prior to kickoff. He also let it be known in the locker room after the game, the Eagles made a mistake by trading him and Washington plans to stay on top of the division.
