Matt Garza Throws Tampa Bay Rays First No Hitter
Matt Garza, has reached some achievements in his career. Garza was a first round pick, twenty fifth overall by the Minnesota Twins in 2005, from Fresno State University. Baseball America named Matt Garza the seventh rank prospect in 2006. November 28Th, 2007 Garza was traded to Tampa Bay. Matt Garza during the season of 2008, helped the Rays advanced to the World Series after winning the AL East and AL Pennant. Unfortunately, the team fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in the Fall Classic. However he'll be remembered for Monday July 26Th, 2010 at home vs. Detroit Tigers. Pitching the 5th no hitter thus far during 2010 Major League Baseball season & first no hitter in Tampa Bay Rays history. Garza threw 120 pitches, 80 pitches for strikes, faced the minimum 27 batters, walked one batter, who was erased after a double play and the game was completed in 2 hours & 36 minutes.
