Here at Sports247365, we are from and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We had loved ones who lived in the same North Philadelphia neighborhood, where Temple University is located. We all know why coach John Chaney who passed away on Friday, is a basketball Hall of Fame coach (2001).
Nonetheless what he did for his players : on the court, off the court, and in the classroom = priceless. The values he taught his players about life goes beyond putting the ball in the basket.
Philadelphia as a city, North Philadelphia as a community, Temple University as an institution took a huge hit Friday when the 89 year old, who just celebrated a birthday : transitioned.
Coach Chaney truly being missed is an understatement.
