Earlier this week the Philadelphia 76ers extended center Joel Embiid contract. Embiid was entering the final year of his rookie contract. After completely missing the first two seasons of his NBA career due to injury, he finally suited up for Philadelphia last season. 33 games then shut down shortly after is what Emiid offered in 2016-17. Yet the potential was there and certainly is there. The former Kansas Jayhawk when healthy can affect both sides of the court, offensively and defensively. Joel Emiid signed a 5 year $148 million deal to remain in Philadelphia.
