The chase for the Golden State Warriors is on, in the Western Conference. Over the past week Oklahoma City made a trade to land Paul George from Indiana. Meanwhile in Houston a sign and trade was in the works as Chris Paul is leaving the Clippers for the Rockets. Oklahoma City finished 6th in the West this past season. Houston finished 3rd in the West. Houston eliminated OKC in the first round. Then the Spurs eliminated the Rockets in the Western Conference semifinals. How much closer does it make either team closer to the Warriors ? Will either move actually challenge the NBA Champions out West ? For the Thunder, have to keep in mind PG13 is in the final year of his contract. Westbrook could become a free agent in 2018 as well. Meanwhile for veteran Chris Paul who has never appeared in a conference finals, the time is ticking.
