South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky SEC Elite 8 Bound

Sunday the East Regional Final will take place at Madison Square Garden. It will guarantee at least one SEC member in the Final Four regardless of the outcome. Florida will take on South Carolina. Meanwhile later in the day a battle of college basketball blue bloods : Kentucky vs. North Carolina to punch the last Final Four ticket to Phoenix. Friday night Kentucky knocked off UCLA to clinch their Elite 8 spot. South Carolina ran away from Baylor. Meanwhile during the night cap in New York City, Florida down by 2 in overtime hit an Elite 8 appearance clinching buzzer beating 3 vs. Wisconsin. All 3 teams surely as made the SEC proud. Will be interesting to see how Sunday regional final games will play out.

Wisconsin, Michigan, Purdue Big 10 Sweet 16 Representatives

Last month the Michigan Wolverines won the Big Ten tournament title in Washington, DC. Despite runway issues while departing the state of Michigan to get to the Nations Capital. Even while having to play their opening game in practice uniforms. Fast forward to March Madness last Sunday in Indianapolis, the 7th seed Wolverines knocked off 2nd seed Louisville to reach the Sweet 16. Purdue has been a top 25 ranked team all season. They also reached the Sweet 16. The Boilermakers strength comes from their front court play. Wisconsin just does what he does, which is advance in March whether thats in their conference tournament or the NCAA tournament. Many believe as an under seeded 8th seed. Well in the round of 32 they spent the defending champion Villanova Wildcats home. To earn a trip to New York City and the Sweet 16.

Sweet 16 CBB Royalty Set To Meet Again

One matchup personally didn't get wrong when I filled out a bracket : UCLA vs. Kentucky in the Sweet 16. The rest of that bracket can probably be thrown in the garbage can ! Both teams met earlier in the season. Obviously UCLA is led by their freshman point guard Lonzo Ball. Meanwhile Kentucky is led by their explosive freshman backcourt of Malik Monk and De'Aaron Fox. The game earlier this season at Rupp Arena was back and forth full of explosive plays. Can you imagine later this week with everything on the line and a spot in the Elite 8 at stake, how the play for both teams will be. This very easily could be a Final Four or National Championship Game or maybe an Elite 8 matchup. Yet it's a Sweet 16 collision course of college basketball blue bloods. Their probably will be so many scouts at the game from the association and GM's as well. Here in Philadelphia, the Sixers brass probably will have an eye on the game as well. Will UCLA sweep the season series or will Kentucky get revenge and literally march on ?

Villanova (Defending Champions) Gone Way Too Early (Again)

65-62 8th seeded Wisconsin took down the defending National Champion Villanova Wildcats. What happened on Saturday in Buffalo unfortunately hasn't been uncommon on the Mainline. From 2009 - 2017 outside of a Final Four appearance in April 2009 and a National Championship in 2016, the Wildcats haven't made it out of the NCAA's 1st weekend. Add in the fact since 2014 Villanova has exited the Big Dance early as a 1 or 2 seed. In 2015 North Carolina State got them as a 1 seed. In 2014 back in Buffalo, UCONN got them as a 2 seed. Head coach Jay Wright would be under more scrutiny especially locally if not for last years title. The Wildcats even blew a double digit lead in that game vs. North Carolina was under 5 minutes remaining. It took a buzzer beating history making 3 point make at the buzzer by Kris Jenkins to bring home the 2nd National Championship in Villanova history. Despite the fact Nova missed some key players from a depth standpoint during the season, this was still a winnable game.

Shaq Attaq Pump...Still A Classic

The year was 1992 and Shaquille O'Neal would leave LSU to declare for the NBA Draft. The Orlando Magic were fortunate enough to win the NBA Draft Lottery. As expected they made Shaq the number one overall pick of the 1992 NBA Draft. The kid was ready for prime time, when it came to endorsements. His agent got him the best sneaker deal possible. O'Neal took his talents to Reebok, which offered him a signature line right out the gate. Fast forward to 2017 the Reebok Shaq Attack Pump has retro ed twice in the past 2-3 years. Personally, think the Orlando 'home' white colorway is simply the best. It is still a classic. After leaving Reebok years later to partner with other footwear companies, I simply think that version of the Shaq Attaq is his best pair ever ! Shaquille O'Neal took home 1992-93 Rookie Of The Year while rocking those kicks.

Allen Iverson is now officially a Hall Of Fame basketball player. I could remember it like it was yesterday. Allen Iverson made is name at Georgetown playing for John Thompson. After two years of making noise on the hardwood for the Hoyas, AI declared for the NBA Draft. Where he became the first pick of the NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. During his rookie campaign Allen debuted the Reebok Questions. I was in 9th grade at the time and the red toe colorway was the best then and the best now. He wore those in route to winning 1996 NBA Rookie Of The Year. Once the retro ed in the early 2000's I grabbed a pair. Unfortunately while at a Sixers game I accidentally ruined them by stepping in some cheese dipping sauce ! No ! Along with the original Shaq Pump, I think they share the mantle of best Reebok basketball sneakers ever.

Air Max 95' Neon

March 2017 will mark the 30th anniversary of the debut of the Nike Air Max series. 1987 is when the line originally debuted. Personally one of my favorite Air Max's are the Nike Air Max 95'. In particular the Neon colorway. When they originally released in 1995 I was in 8th grade. I had to wait until I got older to be able to acquire them. Once the Neon edition debuted in the early 2000's, I made sure I copped them. A few years ago when they retro ed I purchased them instantly. Everything about them is live ! You can dress them up or dress them down. You can workout in them. Mix in the colors of : white, grey, charcoal and black are truly awesome ! I need a new pair. A fresh pair would be righteous.
