Nineteen Forty Wait...As Indians Drought Continue

A classic game. A classic series. Yet in the end the same result for Tribe fans. 1948 and counting since the Cleveland Indians, along with their fan base have been absent of a World Series title. 3-1 series lead turned into a 4-3 series loss. Meanwhile the Chicago Cubs with an 8-7 extra inning victory ended their drought. They are world champions for the first time since 1908. Chicago went into Cleveland trailing 3-2 in the series. They left out of Cleveland with Game 6 and Game 7 wins respectively, to cause more pain for Indians fans. Terry Francona fell just short of becoming one of the few skippers to manage, multiple franchises to a World Series title.
