Big Money Early Off Season Signings Around MLB
Shortly after the San Francisco Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals to win the 2014 World Series, the 2014-15 Major League Baseball off season was upon us. Down in Miami the Marlins wasted no time what so ever locking up Giancarlo Stanton to a 13 year $325 million deal. The Boston Red Sox snatched World Series champion Pablo Sandoval from the Giants to the tune of 5 years $95 million dollars. They weren't done in Boston inking Hanley Ramirez to a 4 year contract worth $88 million dollars. Billy Butler of the AL Champion Kansas City Royals took his DH talents to Oakland for 3 years $30 million dollars. Seattle locked up Nelson Cruz for 4 years $57 million dollars. That's just to name a few players who signed significant deals at the start of free agency. This is only the beginning, obviously more wheeling and dealing is set to come. It's only a matter of time (and money).
