Kawhi Leonard At Age 22 Named NBA Finals MVP

Man oh man, the Spurs made an excellent draft day trade in 2011. San Antonio dealt George Hill for the draft rights of Kawhi Leonard. Leonard is a west coast kid from San Diego State University. He played well minus the Game 6 late missed free throws in the 2013 NBA Finals. Those missed free throws helped springboard a series of events that allowed Miami to force overtime after trailing by 5 with 30 seconds remaining. Miami went on to win Game 6 and Game 7 to beat San Antonio 4-3. This year during the NBA Finals Kawhi played even better especially when the series shifted to Miami for Game 3 and Game 4. He was aggressive on offense and on defense guarding Lebron James. Leonard won his first NBA Finals MVP award and initial NBA championship. He helped veterans Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili win their 5th, 4th and 4th championship respectively. Probably for the quiet natured Leonard the best has yet to come.
