During period 2, Philadelphia scored two goals, while Boston didn't score the remainder of the game. During the 3rd period, Bruins where called for a too many men on the ice penalty, prior to that, Flyers looked like they scored a goal, after review NHL reply in Toronto said no goal, remained tied 3-3. Simon Gagne scored late on power play to give Flyers 4-3 lead which proved to be game winner and history making goal. Goaltender Michael Leighton playing for injured Boucher made save after save to preserve the lead in the final minutes, while Flyers didn't sit back they were aggressive with the lead, unlike Boston who went cold offensively, the remainder of the game after scoring the first three goals.
