New York New York Both Teams Could Be Playing In October
At the time of this article both New York City teams have a real chance at extending their respective seasons. The New York Mets have over taken the NL East favorite Washington Nationals. The Mets currently hold a 6.5 game lead. Meanwhile in the AL East the Yankees sit 1.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays. However the Yankees currently are the American League top Wild Card team holding a 4 game lead. Yankees manager Joe Girardi and Mets manager Terry Collins realize both of their teams are getting it done with solid pitching. Which are obvious keys to getting to postseason play. The spotlight in October could shine brightly in the Bronx and Queens. Both managers should be candidates for manager of the year awards.

The Price Is Right For A Playoff Push In The 6
The Blue Jays are making a strong push to bring playoff baseball back to Toronto. Toronto hasn't seen their beloved Blue Jays play October baseball since they were last there in 1993. Hey it ended well that year Joe Carter hitting a series clinching home run vs. Mitch Williams to beat the Philadelphia Phillies. 22 years is the gap since the Blue Jays won back to back World Series titles. This summer has been great north of the border David Price returns to the AL East as the Jays landed him in a deal with Detroit. Also they added Troy Tulowitzki in a swap of shortstops for Jose Reyes. For those who don't know thanks to Toronto native Drake and it's multiple area codes of 416 & 647, people have been encouraged to nickname the city the 6. Currently Toronto holds one of the two American League Wild Card spots and is in striking distance of the division leader New York Yankees. The Blue Jays have so much talent : Jose Bautista, Mark Buehrle and Josh Donaldson just to name a few. Down the stretch they come as the Jays are making their run for a post season birth.
