Derrick Rose & John Wall Which Adidas PG Can Lead Their Team To A Deep Playoff Run ?

Derrick Rose and John Wall have 3 things in common right off the bat. Both point guards represent Adidas while lacing up their own signature sneakers. Both point guards were once number 1 overall selections in the NBA Draft. Both point guards played college basketball for John Calipari. Derrick Rose has his Bulls currently 3rd in the Eastern Conference standings at 34-20. Meanwhile John Wall and his Wizards are 4th sitting a game back at 33-21. Both Chicago and Washington are trying to hold off Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile everyone is chasing the top seeded Atlanta Hawks. Last season John Wall and the Wizards made it out of the 1st round of the playoffs before losing to Indiana in the 2nd round. It was a series the Wizards actually had a chance to win. However for their group it was a learning experience. Meanwhile Rose is coming back from a pair of major knee injuries. D.Rose has a better supporting offensive cast around him. Jimmy Butler is a 1st time NBA All Star and Pau Gasol brings championship experience from the Los Angeles Lakers. It's even possible both squads could meet at some point in the post season. There is no much basketball left to be played to determine each teams fate.

Dean Smith & Jerry Tarkanian A Pair Of Many Sports Legends Who Passed On To Begin 2015

Dean Smith opened so many doors for many African American players at the University of North Carolina and in the ACC conference. Smith became the first ACC coach to have black basketball players play for his program. He won a slew of ACC regular season and tournament titles. Smith has coached North Carolina to many Final Four appearances as well with the last being in 1995. Coach Smith won a pair of National Championships each in New Orleans in 1982 & 1993 respectively at the Superdome. Dean Smith was a great coach however he was an even better person. North Carolina named their basketball arena after him. Coach Smith passed away earlier in the week after a lengthy battle with dementia. Another coach was loss this week after a health battle as well. Jerry Tarkanian passed away. Yes he coached 1st at Long Beach State and last at Fresno State. Yet people including myself most remember him coach UNLV especially during the 1989-90 season when the Running Rebels blew Duke out to capture the NCAA National Championship. During the 1990-91 season the Running Rebels were upset by Duke at the Final Four missing out on a chance to finish the season undefeated. He helped save the life of Chris Herron while at Fresno State as Herron thanked Tark when he checked in a rehab program as he recovered from drug abuse. Both coaches will most certainly be missed. Prior to their deaths the sports world has witnessed the deaths of Stuart Scott longtime ESPN anchorman due to cancer. We have also saw the passing of Mr. Cub Ernie Banks as well as NFL Films founder Ed Sabol and we are only in the month of February, may the all rest in peace.

Noel & Covington Represent 76ers During All Star Weekend

Michael Carter Williams won the NBA Rookie Of The Year award last year following the 2013-14 season. He was slated to play in his 2nd NBA Rising Star Challenge during NBA All Star Weekend. However this past Friday at Barclay Center Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington were the players from Philadelphia who played in the game. Noel and Covington represented the 76ers during All Star Weekend in New York City. This weekend festivities are slated between Madison Square Garden & Barclays Center. Obviously it's another rebuilding year for the 76ers. Noel missed his rookie season last year and working to improve is overall basketball game. He only played one season at Kentucky before moving on to the next level. Covington is making a name for himself as well, especially as a 3 point shooter. Michael Carter Williams missed this weekend events due to injury, hopefully Philadelphia will have their starting point guard back after the break.

Even With 4 Superbowl Titles Is Tom Brady The Best QB All Time

Now that Superbowl XLIX is in the books and Tom Brady helped lead New England to a comeback victory vs. the Seattle Seahawks, the greatest ever quarterback debate will come into play. Brady and New England won their 4th Superbowl in franchise history and won the big game for the first time in 10 years. Brady took home another Superbowl MVP award in the process. Improving to 4-2 overall in 6 Superbowl appearances. Many experts believe now that Brady has tied his idle Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw with 4 Superbowl wins he's in place to be crowned the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Brady even made a kind gesture to his teammate Malcolm Butler. Brady won a truck as part of taking home the Superbowl XLIX MVP award. Butler the undrafted rookie free agent made the game winning interception on Sunday. How nice of Brady. Obviously the greatest quarterback of all time debate will rage on. It most certainly be an interesting debate to be had.

What In The_____Was Pete Carroll Thinking ?

Superbowl XLIX ended in an unthinkable way. Malcolm Butler the undrafted rookie defensive back made a Superbowl clinching interception to secure a 28-24 win for the New England Patriots over the Seattle Seahawks. In the 2nd half the defending champion Seattle Seahawks seemed to be on the verge of a repeat, however it was no to be in the end. After taking a 24-14 lead into the 4th quarter Seattle really didn't run the football. The team with the fewest pass attempts in the NFL during the regular season became pass happy. Setting the stage for a Tom Brady 4th quarter comeback. Brady threw 2 4th quarter touchdown passes, off setting his 2 touchdown / 2 interception performance prior to the final period. Including an interception thrown in the red zone earlier in the game. Seattle gave up the lead refusing to put the ball in Marshawn Lynch hands with a double digit lead. Even more shocking Pete Carroll and company refused to put the ball in his hands from the 1 yard line with under 30 seconds remaining. On 2nd down from the 1 yard line Russell Wilson threw a slant that was picked up and the rest as they say was history. Even with the Patriots in a goal line defense, Seattle had 2 timeouts and the ball from the 1 yard line and Lynch never touched it from there. The best power back in football never had a chance to win the game. Most certainly a questionable decision by Carroll and his offensive staff.
