Tim Howard Saves The Day Even In World Cup Defeat For USMNT
16 saves, I repeat 16 saves by Tim Howard in the Knockout Round for United States soccer vs. Belgium. Unfortunately at age 36 this could be the final World Cup appearance for Howard. Nevertheless if that was it, Tim Howard saved his best for last literally. He didn't deserve to lose. He bailed out this defense all match long time and time again as Belgium applied constant pressure. Howard probably was the best USMNT player in Brazil during the 2014 World Cup. Belgium went on to advance to the quarterfinals, nevertheless they had to earn it was a pair of extra time goals. The US nearly tied it up after cutting into the lead. However it wasn't mean to be. Howard made history the most saves by a goal keeper in the World Cup in nearly 50 years !
USMNT Escaped The Group Of Death Showed Grit During Knockout Round
Landon Donovan was left off the 2014 United States Men's National Team. Many American soccer fans were just as upset as Donovan was with head coach Jurgen Klinsmann move. The move Klinsmann made could've have hurt his squad after Jozy Altidore went out early vs. Ghana with a hamstring injury. Altidore would not play anymore during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Imagine if Donovan was on the team he could have stepped in. I mean he is the all time leading goal scorer for the USMNT. The United States managed to escape the group of death by beating Ghana 2-1. They were moments away from a win vs. Portugal until a late goal off a beautiful pass by Christiano Ronaldo let to the equalizer. That match ended in a draw. Even with a 1-0 3rd match loss to Germany the Yanks would head to the round of 16. However similar to 2010 in South Africa during the World Cup, USMNT couldn't advance further a 2-1 extra time loss to Belgium did them in. However for a little under 2 weeks the guys of USMNT captured America to sit down and watch them grind, claw and flight their way through the tournament.
Don't Call It A Comeback ! Nike Air Flight Huarache Returning Summer 2K14
Nike has tinkered with the Nike Air Flight Huarache from a basketball standpoint. However overall the past couple of years it lacked the OG appeal. The sole of the sneaker was make completely different than the original model. Growing up in the early 1990's I really like the Nike Air Flight Huarache especially after seeing the Michigan Fab Five and Duke Blue Devils rocking them ! God bless Tinker Hatfield the University of Oregon graduate, created this shoe. If you ask me it ranks right up there with some of the Air Jordan models that he put together. The Nike Air Flight Huarache according to several sneaker media outlets will make a return later during this summer of 2K14. I personally can't wait !
Jordan Brand Will Begin Remastering Classics In 2K15
The Air Jordan IV along with the Air Jordan VII and Air Jordan X will kick start a Jordan Brand trend starting in 2015. Many Air Jordan fans including myself have complained about 3 things when it comes to recent retro releases. Those 3 things are : increase in price, however a decrease in material and no Nike Air on the back of III -VI retros similar to the OG pairs. I'm sure sneaker fans will expect with the prices to become raised even more with the remastered series, that the material to make the sneakers will get better. Personally I think I'll pass on the 3 remastered sneakers to bat lead off for Jordan Brand next year. No matter what the remastered series despite the price, Jordan's will obviously sale out from a retail standpoint and will sale from a consignment standpoint. Maybe the best is yet to come for Jordan Brand with the remastered series. Maybe not. We shall see.
